2021
During the 3rd year of my Digital Media degree, I was given the opportunity to work with the established production company, Orbital Media. The brief was to redesign their existing app for an older demographic, including updated brand identity assets and app activities.
I pitched my ideas to Orbital Media before documenting my process thoroughly to display my thoughts behind each design choice.
My original logo design was based on the visual 'breathing circle' commonly used to slow breathing patterns after asthma attacks. The client requested that I updated my logo designs to include more asthma-related imagery to link it more directly to the product.
I used a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to develop the final logo variations.
I used existing app examples to inspire my design which I developed in Adobe XD. I catered my updated brand identity to the new target audience of 12-19-year-olds and continued this design throughout.
Orbital shared that they were pleased with my ideas and outcomes and they would consider including some of my work in the future developments of their app.
This project was so fun to work on as I really enjoyed having creative freedom, owning my creative process and experimenting with app design.
I created a process book with InDesign to demonstrate my journey through idea creation to completion.
