2022
For my final major project, I decided to design a hypothetical houseplant company, one of its physical products and an accompanying app.
I decided on this project as I believe it showcases my wide range of skills from, idea production and brand identity building to my self-motivation and project management.
To make the product, I worked with a 3D printing technician to bring my product design visions to life. I worked on several iterations before designing and completing the final project, painting it to match my brand and appeal to my target audience.
One of my favourite parts of this project was designing the product packaging. Using Adobe Photoshop and a net shape of a paper box, I applied my developed brand assets and created something representative of the company and suitable for the demographic.
I'm really pleased with how this turned out, I think that it looks real and authentic to mainstream packaging design.
Something else I found myself really enjoying was the app design process.
Similar to the packaging design, this task required me to explore many different iterations of the design, adjusting the brand assets and features until I was happy with the layout.
I used Adobe XD for the completed design and it is available to preview here: https://xd.adobe.com/view/f49dc58c-49a2-441c-8c51-888dec8a8168-a1ce/

To finalise my project, I created examples of the posters that would be used to promote the product and brand as well as examples of where the posters would be displayed according to the habits of my chosen demographic.
This project ran for around 14 weeks meaning that planning and organisation were really important to ensure I kept on top of my tasks and made my project run as smooth as possible. To do this, I kept a week-to-week to-do list on Milanote and checked off my tasks as I went along. This allowed me to stay prepared for time delays or changes that can be expected in long, detail-orientated projects.
My final project displayed at the Cambridge School of Art Degree Show.
